Lobster Tennis Ball
do asians have a different body than americans?
i am asian(chinese). i am 13, 6’0, and 136 pounds. i play basketball, tennis, and track(idk yet because i am good at distance and sprints) i eat rice almost every day and its white rice.my mom says it is not fattening and that asians have a different body than americans and she said is she fat even though she eats rice every day(she isnt fat) but my brother looks overweight and really isnt). i eat the usual asian foods, dumplings, fish balls, ect and some american foods, most notably subway and american resturants like outback and red lobster. do asians have differnt bodies than americans like when they eat, they dont gain as much weight
Bodies are bodies. Assuming there is no other medical condition involved, eating more calories than your body can use is what makes you fat. Your metabolic rate and the amount of calories you exercise off determines what YOUR body can use.
American fast food, comfort food, and much processed food tend to be high in fats and sugars, so a very little of it can provide too many calories. Plus American restaurants tend to serve too-large portions, and many of us are still taught to eat everything on the plate even if we’re full and don’t really want it. Those Asians who eat a lot of American fast food (MacDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, french fries and potato chips, etc.) and lead a sedentary lifestyle get just as fat as we do.
You are 13 and still growing, you exercise a lot, and the diet you eat at home sounds low in calories, so you are less likely to get fat than you will be later on when you’re done growing and get too busy to run and play basketball so much.
Note: Your brother may not BE fat; perhaps he simply doesn’t exercise as much as you do, so that his muscles are not as toned. It is quite possible to be both thin and flabby.
