What gives you more speed on the ball a tightly strung racket or a lightly strung racket?
Does a tightly strung racket give you more control or speed? What is a good tension for an average tennis player?
i think on the contrary to what others believe, tighter stringing makes less trampoline effect on the ball upon impact. that means less time from the moment the ball touches the stringbed to the moment the ball is released. what you can learn from this physics is that the more the trampoline effect, the further the ball bounces off the stringbed and the less the trampoline effect, the less the ball bounces.
bottomline, tightly strung racquet gives less speed, while lightly strung one will give more speed.
